Grandpa Pete’s twist on an Italian classic. A traditional Christmas Eve favorite in Italy—it’s great as an appetizer or as a main course. Baccalá is a Serro family favorite every Christmas Eve and we are passing on our tradition to you! We hope that you enjoy it just as much as we do!
Ingredients:
4 cloves garlic, halved
1 jar Grandpa Pete’s Marinara Sauce
1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless cod, cut into 20 equal-sized pieces
4 tablespoons capers, rinsed
4 teaspoons Olive Oil
1 teaspoons dried oregano
Fine sea salt
4 slices baguette, toasted
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Divide garlic and Grandpa Pete’s Marinara Sauce evenly between 4 small earthenware dishes.
Place 5 pieces cod in each dish.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon capers, 1 teaspoon olive Oil, 1/4teaspoon oregano, and a pinch of salt over cod in each dish.
Bake until cod is cooked through, 15 to 20 minutes.
Serve Baccalá with baguette slices.
