- ½ cup of chopped onions
- 2 small chopped celery stalks
- 1 chopped red or green bell pepper
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 lb. of thin spaghetti
- 1 jar Grandpa Pete’s Garlic Sauce
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Romano or Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the thin spaghetti until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil and butter together in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sliced sausage to the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes, allowing it to warm through and lightly brown.
- Stir in the onions, celery, and bell pepper. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring often, until the vegetables begin to soften and become fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper and cook for about 2–3 minutes, stirring gently, until the shrimp start to turn pink.
- Pour in the jar of Grandpa Pete’s Garlic Sauce, followed by the lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
- Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer until the shrimp are fully cooked and tender.
- Transfer the drained pasta to a large serving platter. Spoon the shrimp sauté evenly over the pasta.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and finish with grated Romano or Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately with Italian crusty bread and your favorite wine.
