A meaty lasagna, sure to be a family favorite.

This Meaty Lasagna is a Grandpa Pete’s take on a classic Italian dish. A perfect meal that can feed many mouths! A meaty lasagna, sure to be a family favorite.

Ingredients

2 jars Grandpa Pete’s Sunday Sauce (Marinara, Garlic, or Meat… your choice!) 

9 lasagna noodles 

2 15oz. containers ricotta cheese 

1/2 lb. ground beef 

1/2 lb. Italian sausage, casing removed 

2 eggs

2 cups shredded mozzarella, divided 

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp parsley flakes 

1/4 tsp black pepper 

1 tsp Italian seasoning 

1/2 tsp salt 

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 

Brown ground beef and sausage in large skillet on medium heat; stir occasionally.

Drain fat and stir in 4 cups of sauce. 

Beat eggs in large bowl. Add ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella, garlic powder, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well. 

In a 13×9-inch baking dish, spread 1 cup of meat and Grandpa Pete’s sauce mixture on the bottom. Top with 3 noodles. Spread half the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat meat sauce, noodles, and cheese layer. Layer remaining noodles and top with sauce. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella and the parmesan cheese.

Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes.

Remove foil. Bake 15 minutes longer or until noodles are tender. 

Let stand before cutting. Serve with reserved Sunday Sauce.
